PRESBYOPIA

Presbyopia: Understanding Age-Related Farsightedness

Presbyopia is a common vision condition that affects many adults over the age of 40. It’s a gradual loss of your eyes’ ability to focus on nearby objects. As we age, the eye’s natural lens becomes less flexible, making it challenging to see things up close. The term “presbyopia” comes from a Greek word meaning “old eye”.

Recognize presbyopia by these symptoms:

Blurred Vision: Difficulty focusing on nearby objects.

Eyestrain or Headache: Especially after reading or doing close work.

Sensitivity to Light: Squinting in bright light.

Need for Brighter Lighting: Struggling to read in dim environments.

If you experience these symptoms, consult an eye care professional for proper diagnosis and personalized treatment options. Regular eye exams are essential for maintaining good vision health as you age
